New Home Construction Is Up In 2019
The latest U.S. Census Bureau report shows new home construction is up in 2019, according to their report on monthly new residential construction, July 2019 (published August 16, 2019). The three areas of significance are Building Permits, Housing Starts, and Housing Completions.
Building Permits in July of 2019 which were authorized for private housing units were 8.4 % above the revised June rate and 1.5 % above the July 2018 rate.
Housing Starts in July 2019 were 4% below revised June rate, but 0.6% above the July 2018 rate.
Housing Completions in July were 7.2% above the revised June estimate, and 6.3 percent above the July 2018 rate.
